The Graduate Research Academy RNA Biology of the Regensburg International Graduate School for Life Sciences (RIGeL) organized a practical course teaching the latest methods in RNP analysis. 16 PhD students (many of them from outside of Regensburg) had the chance to learn about state-of-the-art methodology from experts in the field. Exciting lectures were combined with hands-on experimentation. This provided not only detailed insights into the methods but also experimental guidance in how to set up the different types of assays. It was great fun and I am happy for the opportunity to contribute! See the poster. A big thank you to Alfredo Castello and Rastislav Horos who traveled to Regensburg to teach RNA Interactome Capture!
The EMBL 40th Anniversary Reunion!
Meeting old friends and hearing about the exciting science that happened (and is still happening) at EMBL – combined with a Hentze Lab reunion! In sum: great fun and great science!
Very exciting! The whole lab just returned from the Symposium `From Functional Genomics to Systems Biology` hosted by BioSysNet and Baygene in Munich at the Klinikum rechts der Isar.
It was three days of fascinating talks, intense and exciting discussions and meeting friends and colleagues from near and far! We would like to thank especially the organizing team around Ulrike Kaltenhauser and Claudia Szeibert for making things happen. It was a wonderful and inspiring meeting!

It’s hard to believe…but it’s already been a year since we moved to Regensburg! Time to thank our colleagues and collaborators for the wonderful and productive year, and the funding sources without whom the work would not be possible. Many thanks for everything!
Merry Christmas, a relaxing holiday season and a happy and successful New Year.
