IMPORTANT: COVID-19 MEASURES

We have esteblished strict rules in the department to stop the spread of the SARS-CoV-2. Due to these hygiene measures and the limited lab space, we cannot currently offer any lab internships. If you are interested in an internship after the crisis, please contact us by email. We all hope that the situation will improve soon and that we can again support you in your studies to the best we can!

Bachelor and Master theses (Genetics or Biochemistry)

We supervise BSc and MSc theses for the following study courses: Bachelor: Biochemie, Biologie, and Molekulare Medizin; Master: Biochemie, Biologie (for students that have enrolled prior to WS17/18), International MSc Biology, and Molekulare Medizin

Please contact us well ahead of time if you are interested in pursuing the practical work for BSc or MSc in our lab. If required, we also offer the accompanying seminar (no. 54216, Laufende wissenschaftliche Arbeiten der Biochemie).

Curricular teaching:

Please refer to the online directory for up-to-date information on lectures, courses, and practicals: click here for the LSF.

After signing up for the respective courses, additional information will be provided via the e-learning platform GRIPS. There you will also find information and details on online lectures (using Zoom) and on slack channels that we use for answering questions, for joint discussions, and for the dissemination of addtional information. In some of the lectures, online Kahoot! questionaires will be employed for concept checks. All relevant information will be provided at the start of each class/course.

International Master of Science in Biology:

Genetics module: to join the genetics module of the International Master of Science in Biology, it is obligatory to attend the introductory meeting during which all relevant information will be provided. Refer to the LSF for date and time. To sign up for the practical modules (PM), please use the documents provided on the faculty webpage.

    • Practical module (no. 54194): Gene regulation
    • Lecture (no. 54402): Cell Cycle Control in Eukaryotes
    • Seminar (no. 54427): Methods in Cell Cycle and Translation Control

Biochemistry module: this module is structured in a manner similar to the genetics module. To sign up for the practical modules, please contact us by email.

    • Practical module (no. 54193): Post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression
    • Seminar (no. 54208): RNA Biology
